Clam days and Ghiradelli dreams

Last full day in SF started out with brunch with my old SF pals Gloria and Alice. Then D and I headed on the F-line cable car out to Ghiradelli Square. We marched right past all the Fisherman's Wharf madness in our search for chocolate. D also wanted to have the iconic clam chowder in a bread bowl. I never tried it in eight years of living here, it's actually pretty good.

As is a Ghiradelli ice cream cup for desert. We tooled around the bay inlet next to the old Ghiradelli factory, and wandered down Hyde Street pier to see the Golden Gate bridge. Then we bussed back to Market Street on the 30 Stockton, that takes you through North Beach and China Town.

I was dead exhausted by the time we got back to our hotel. My aerobic shape is good enough to handle the walking and hills, my joints are not. But everything is exhausting when you go all day everyday for a week. Anyway, we still had to meet my nephew for dinner, then wander around back to Gloria's for a night cap after that. Grandnephew started out a bit shy, then was break dancing on the floor of the restaurant by the end of dinner.

Gotta get going soon, flight back to AZ.
