New Grimm

Season 2 seems promising. I am hoping for more interesting female characters with the introduction of Mom, although I don't see a big story-line future for Mom herself. She is the equal of her son in determination and strength, and so would quickly suck up all the air in the room from the main character if she sticks around.

Hopefully, she'll disappear into the storyverse and recur from time to time. I personally do not need anymore "character deaths to aNgSt our hero" plz, Hollywood. I'd like to continue to see Mom (ack, what's her name?) in action and also see some emotional layers develop in her relationship with Nick. So far they're very polite and cooperative.

The advertising for the season claims the story will really ramp up and get more intense. The season 2 premiere was a continuation of the story arc from season 1. That story arc reflected some major world-building in the later half of the season. So major it was getting a little hard to keep track of. I am hoping they actually bring it home a bit and not keep piling higher and deeper. Partly because politics bores me and partly because I was starting to need a chart.

I am wondering if they will focus less on Portland and Nick's job as a cop and more on international intrigue and Nick's role in that as a grimm. I have mixed feelings about that. On the one hand, the Portland cop setting is too small to contain the story world they are developing. On the other hand, politics of wesen and royal families and grimms... see above re: political storylines done wrong can be Very Boring.

That said, there are some personal adversaries from season 1 I'm a little tired of.
