NaNoWriMo Day 29

New words: 1,423
Total words: 50,211 (or as the NaNo word counter would have it: 50,091)
Goal: 50,000

50211 / 50000
(100.42%)

NaNo notes: Nothing quoteable today, just as much drivel as I could type last night and this morning to get past the finish line. But I did get past it, yay me!

More to the point, I accomplished what I set out to do, which was simply to give my story a fresh infusion of life by doing actual narrative writing instead of just poking at ideas. Even this morning, I had a totally new idea I hadn't had in the past two years, just as I had several other ideas this month that really set the story on its ear.

Now comes the hard part, keeping it up. I still don't have anything that actually resembles a first draft; I just have a collection of better ideas, most in hastily-scribbled narrative form. And I need more, because I still don't feel comfortable trying to hammer what I have into an outline yet. There are still plot points I am kicking around that I don't especially like.

So the immediate goal for December is just to write 300 words a day of new narrative writing, much in the same manner I did NaNo: whatever comes to mind.
