Reminds me of the old days:

We need this right away! ... We need a bid from you by yesterday! ... It's been five minutes since you got the proposal, where's your bid??!!?

...weeks pass...

We need it right away! What do you mean nobody said your bid won the job. Oh, well, that's just a formality... We gotta have it right away!

...days later...

When can you have it done? Today? Great! What do you mean you can't ship it till you have the paperwork saying you won the bid?? Well, we'll get that right out to you!

..hours later...

What do you mean it's not the right paperwork? I'll bring a special exemption right over in person...

... a month later...

We need this new thing right away!! What do you mean you haven't been paid yet for the last rush job??

Sometimes I think jobs wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for the customers. I've been waiting for someone to call back now since Tuesday to give me one number, so I can run a payroll, which she's going to panic and need tomorrow. And she's in Ithaca. I am not in Ithaca. I do not wish to be in Ithaca. Guess that tomorrow I'll be going to Ithaca.

*grumbles about the layout of the entire town of Ithaca, where it's impossible to park any vehicle anywhere for any length of time, ever*

The work PTBs are just as annoying. When the only one who knows how to complete this is on maternity leave and her supervisors can't tell me what needs done, it's a problem.

It drives me crazy when people create problems with their own negligence or irresponsibility or whatever, and then make someone else go out of their way to fix it for them. It would have taken this client maybe 3 minutes to make a phone call on Tuesday or Wednesday, but she didn't, despite knowing the schedule, and despite being left messages at her office, on her cell phone, and via email. And now I have to spend 4 hours driving to Ithaca and back? Not fair.
