NaNoWriMo Day 10

New words: 1,698
Total words: 20,107
Goal: 50,000

20107 / 50000

Quote-worthy snippet:

The landfill stank; but that was just part of its charm, and you sort of stopped smelling it after an hour or two. Or a week. Everybody had complained for about a day, but they soon got into the purpose at hand, which was to take their own culture and put it under the microscope of archeological scrutiny. It was good for learning a lot of things--archeological method, what it was like to be the subject of archeological analysis, and, of course, more than you ever wanted to know about the consumer culture of contemporary Northern California.

Interesting words used: bronzy. As opposed to what? Bronzish. Bronze-like. Bronze-colored.

NaNo notes: Yesterday's big picture work paid off in that it gave me a jumping off place to get back in there and type actual words. Now the work-work demon is lurking, though, so I may or may not continue said jumping in the next day or so.

Ah, yes, I saw your post for yesterday, though I must have skimmed right past the sentence about counting your previous notes towards your word count. Still, very impressive :)

Those notes were from November, but they were notes.

And a few bits of story narrative from the past two years.

I figure the ends justify the means. I am trying to create a story, not follow a set of rules religiously.
