Snow Bowl

Just got back from Flagstaff. Lots of interesting potential cabin rentals. But OMG, Ski Lift Lodge and Cabins on Highway 180 is not going to be one of the finalists! While very cute and very cozy, they are trly lacking in the modern conveniences. They have regular motel rooms and some duplex cabins. The Sculptor and I stayed in one of the cabins. OK, first off, a coffee machine and blow-dryer "with the room" I can live without if there is lots of character and charm. Which there is. But no phone in the room, no wifi, the cable TV had seven stations total (two of which were HBO and CNN, so you know they had to have access to more), and the bed was hard as a rock.

Plus...the heater was this Ben Franklin-stove style radiator thingee that kept the room warm by flaming up every couple of hours and lighting up the Entire Room for twenty minutes all.night.long.

I'm a little tired and cranky today.

I will update the ATPo comm this week with the info I got.

Yeah, but what ATPo folks really want to know: Did you go skiing, snow boarding or otherwise play in the Arizona snow?

There were snow women and snow angels, but the snow was old and hard-packed and not a lot of fun to play in. Bet they're getting fresh snow as we speak, with the storm rolling in.

i could deal with any and all of that but the heater.

reminds me of a place I was supposed to stay a week in. Every time the heater kicked on, sparks shot around the ceiling. I was afraid it would catch fire

Yeah, in the end it was all fine except that Light Of Day heater. I kept thinking it was morning.
