Home improvement progress report

So yeah, I spent two out the four days of my four-day weekend painting the guest and master bathrooms. I had to get rid of that swiss coffee white shade in them. Now the guest bathroom looks a little bland in a gold way rather than a white way. I think I can fix that up with a little accessorizing. The master bathroom, on the other hand, has this rich, dignified masculine look to it, which is not what I intended. I think it's because the wall color is very dark. Darker than I thought it would be. Both bathrooms were painted some variation of earth tones. I will need to balance out that masculine look with some accessories as well, before I get the urge to go out and buy a houndstooth robe and curved-stem pipe.

The master bathroom still needs its paint touch-ups, and both need the aforementioned accessorizing, so I will hold off on piccies until then.

ETA: While I was up on my Very High Ladder, I decided to cut away the swollen patch where the paper lining the ceiling (I don't know if it's dry wall paper, or what) warped due to the leak in the bathroom sun roof. I could see underneath it that the leak isn't too bad, but needs to be patched. I'd call someone right away to fix it if I knew who to call. I don't think I need to call an entire roofing company to seal the area around a sun roof that's 3'x3' or something. I could even seal it myself if I knew what to buy.

However, if you add a deerstalker hat, you will get closer to completing your Sherlock Holmes motif.

A hat in the bathroom? No, I'll get the hat so I can take my ensemble into my 19th-century library room.

Roof problem
In less brutal climes what you'd want is roofing compound. Here it may take a little more than that. You should still be able to do it yourself. Ask at a Lowes or a Home Depot.

Re: Roof problem
Then I just need to pick the perfect time to climb up on my roof and let the sunbeatshine down on me!

Sometime cooler sounds better, if not perfect. ;o)

Re: Roof problem
I wanted to take care of it while monsoon season was still on, but you may be right.

Dark brown wall paint, even darker brown cabinets, and a sort of stone-looking tan/brown/white counter top. It just looks like the decor in a men's club for some reason!

Not that that's a bad thing, but I think I need to breath a bit of life into it.
